John P. Bacon, Chief
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1979. Promoted to Captain in 1992. Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1992. Promoted to full time Inspector / Firefighter / EMT in 1998. Appointed Interim Chief of the Department in 2002. Appointed as City’s first full-time Chief of the Fire / EMS Department in February 2003. Chief Bacon Is a State Certified Fire Service Training Instructor.

Sam Bacon, Jr., Chief, Fire Prevention Bureau
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1972, was appointed to the Fire Prevention Bureau and became a Certified Fire Safety Inspector in 1978. Was appointed Chief of the Bureau in 1979. Responsibilities include supervision of the Fire Prevention Bureau and the Certified Fire Safety Inspectors.

Captain Jack Patterson.
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1966. Promoted to Captain in 1983. Responsibilities include fireground supervision and assisting with training.

Captain Ron Feller
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1984. Promoted to Captain in 1992. Captain Feller is a State Certified Fire Service Training Instructor and in addition to fireground supervision, responsibilities include the development and implementation of the Departments Fire Service Training Programs.

Captain Bunny Lawrence
Appointed to the North Canton EMS in 1979. Certified as a Paramedic in 1981. Promoted to Captain in 2002. Captain Lawrence is an EMS Instructor, serves as an EMS shift commander and is a member of the faculty at Stark State College.

Captain Dean McDonald
Appointed to North Canton EMS in 1975. Captain McDonald was promoted to Captain in 2002 and serves as an EMS shift commander.

Captain Gary W. Coen
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1986. Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1991. Promoted to full time Inspector / Firefighter / EMT in 1998. Promoted to Captain in 2003. In addition to fireground supervision, Captain Coen is a member of the Fire Prevention Bureau, is a Certified Fire Safety Inspector and is currently assigned to head special projects. He is also a State of Ohio Certified Child Safety Seat Installer and provides this service to the public.

Captain Ted Scheffler
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1987. Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in 2000. Promoted to Captain in 2003, in addition to fireground supervision Captain Scheffler is responsible for the Departments annual vehicle certification program.

Captain Herbert ‘Kip’ Beadle
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1992. Completed the requirements to become a Certified Fire Safety Inspector in 1994. Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician in 1998. Completed Firefighter I requirements in May of 2005 and was promoted to Captain in June of 2005. In addition to fireground supervision, Captain Beadle is a member of the Fire Prevention Bureau and is responsible for the inspection of fuel storage and dispensing facilities and underground and above ground combustible liquid tank installation and removal.

Captain Gregory Seemann
Appointed to North Canton EMS in 1979 as an Emergency Medical Technician. Certified as a Paramedic in 1982 and a CPR instructor in 1983. Promoted to Captain in 2006, Captain Seemann serves as an EMS Shift Commander and has multiple operational responsibilities within the department.

Christopher Massouh
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1998. Subsequently completed qualifications as an Inspector / Firefighter / EMT in 2000. A member of the Fire Prevention Bureau he is currently assigned to head the Departments communication and computer enhancement program and public and parochial school fire safety education. He is responsible for the content and information for the departments website.

John Kastor
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1994. Promoted to full time Inspector / Firefighter / Paramedic in 2002. A member of the Fire Prevention Bureau he is also a State Certified Fire Service Training Instructor and serves as one of the Departments training officers.

Scott Kelly
Appointed as a part time firefighter in 1999. Promoted to full time Inspector / Firefighter / EMT in 2004. He is a State of Ohio Certified Child Safety Seat Installer and is a member of the Fire Prevention Bureau
